The Pleasant Street Seventh-day Adventist Church exists to share the love of God in Christ with all people, to lead others to Christ and to empower the saved in Christ.
We envision a caring church where every member is a minister who is constrained by the love of God and uniquely gifted by the Holy Spirit to strategically minister and lead people to Christ. Nurturing church community discipling believers in an environment of small groups, spirit filled worship, fervent prayer and dynamic functional structures for excellence in ministry.
We value all people because God does. (Luke 19:10) Therefore, we will use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win, and disciple unsaved individuals.
We value biblical community where people have the opportunity to minister to and love one another, working in unity towards accomplishing our mission. (Rom 12:4-6) (Acts 2:44-46) Therefore, we ask all our people to commit to and fully participate in small groups where they may exercise their gifts and experience community.
We value worship that is authentic and acceptable to God. (Rom. 12:1-2) Therefore, we desire to acknowledge and magnify God’s supreme value and worth in our personal lives and in the corporate, relevant and spirit-filled worship of our church.
We value prayer because it is the key to intimate connection to Christ. (Phil 4:5-7) Therefore, we emphasize the importance of prayer and encourage all members to cultivate this discipline in order to access the boundless resources of heaven needed for unconditional loving, victorious living, and transformational ministry.
We value ministry that effectively communicates biblical truth in ways that people understand it. (1 Chron1:32) Therefore, we will constantly evaluate and change our forms and methods, seeking cultural relevance and maximum ministry effectiveness for Christ.
We value the unique design and giftedness that every members brings to the body of Christ. (Rom 12:6-8) Therefore, we will intentionally empower all and provide support systems and opportunities for people to effectively accomplish the work of ministry.
We value giving our best in service to God because He gave His best - the Savior. (Col. 3:23-24) Therefore, we will seek to honor Him by maintaining a high standard of excellence in all our ministries and activities.
